Can we bring a pet?

No, River Woods is pet-free. Service animals are welcome; a heads-up helps us prepare.

Is there an EV charger?

Yes. A ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger, 40 A, with a J1772 plug. Tesla drivers need their J1772 adapter.

How are the Wi-Fi and cell service?

Starlink Wi-Fi, about 110 Mbps in our last speed test, enough for streaming on several devices. AT&T gets LTE here, and guests report Verizon and T-Mobile work too. The landline has free calling in the US.

Is the cabin on the river?

No. The neighborhood's river access point is about a 10-minute walk. You can float down to it from the Bentonville boat ramp, 3 miles upriver. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and life jackets, and tie a bandanna at the exit so you know where to get out. Downriver Canoe Company in Bentonville, about 8 minutes away, runs river trips.

Do I need four-wheel drive?

No. The roads are paved except the last half mile of state road and our quarter-mile driveway. Any car is fine in normal weather; AWD helps in snow over 6 inches. We send step-by-step directions before you arrive, and the last stretch is easier after the first time.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Self check-in is after 4 pm with a keypad. Check-out is 11 am, which gives our cleaners the five hours they need. Early check-in is possible when the night before is open; we confirm by 5 pm the day before.

How many guests can stay?

Up to 6, the limit set by the HOA, county and state. No parties or events, and the person booking must be 21 or older.

Can we have a fire?

Yes, in the outdoor fire pit. Bring your own firewood. Virginia doesn't allow outdoor fires before 4 pm from Feb 15 to Apr 30. The two fireplaces inside are gas, so they need no wood and are fine all year.

Tell me about the hot tub.

A 460-gallon Jacuzzi with a waterfall, UV-C cleaning and a 4-stage filter, under the deck. It seats 6 and runs year-round.

What should we bring?

Groceries (the closest full grocery stores are in Front Royal, about 25 minutes), firewood for the fire pit, and tubes or kayaks for the river. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils, and linens and towels are provided.

Can we drink the water?

Yes. The cabin is on a well with a Culligan filtration system that's serviced and tested every quarter.

How do prices and minimum stays work?

Prices change by date. Pick your dates in the booking box to see the total for your stay, including cleaning and taxes. Most weekends need 3 nights and weekdays 2; shorter stays sometimes open up close to the date.

Where is the nearest hospital?

Valley Health Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal and Page Memorial Hospital in Luray are each about 30 minutes away.
